I actually stumbled into Brit Rose, on accident. I was heading to meet some friends for lunch when I saw some cute sweaters on a rolling rack and instantly got distracted. I grabbed a couple and proceeded into the store, and was instantly greeted by a smiling sales associate. She offered me a mimosa or to help myself to any of the refreshments on the most charming bar cart setup.
The store is boutique style, with southern on trend clothing and a mid to high price range. As I’m looking around a sweet lady pops her head around the corner who happens to be the owner, and starts explaing the concept of the store. As if I wasn’t already sold on how cute the store was, she explained to me that Brit Rose is a family run non profit, that goes towards suicide prevention and mental health awareness. So not only was I shopping, I was shopping with a cause.
Anti-bullying has always been a passion of mine, so I went home and decided to look further into Brit Rose. Did you know 1 in 5 people in the US suffer from a diagnosable, treatable mental illness? Yet nearly two-thirds of those suffering will get little to no treatment. No other disease claims more lives than mental illness. Those are insane numbers for something that can be treated. The touching story of how Brit Rose came about is not my story tell, but it is definitely one I encourage you reading. Head to the site Shopbritrose.com to hear about the wonderful foundation right here in Dallas Tx., and support the cause!
